Kind person rescues a sick kitten from the Starbucks drive-through, nurses her back to health, and the bond they create is so strong, he simply has to adopt her
There is never any way of knowing where the cat distribution system might catch you. Some of us spend years waiting, hoping and praying that we will walk into a shelter and be chosen by our future cat, that we will be worthy of it, while some of us… just have it happen on a random weekday afternoon. We have seen people adopt cats while on a walk. We have seen kittens walk onto people's porches, just like that, on a random day, and get adopted. We have seen people get adopted while on a midnight picnic.

Driver rescues a kitten running through traffic in the pouring rain, saving him from getting hit by two cars, then adopts the fluffy cat child into his loving family
Kittens always show up in the darnedest of places, don't they? The meowgically show up in bushes outside your bedroom window, in boxes on the sidewalk, or in this case, disrupting traffic in the middle of a thunderstorm. None of these places are appropriate for kittens. The only place appropriate for a kitten is safely snuggled up in a blanket with their hooman (or momma cat) looking after them. Luckily, that's exactly where this kitten is now - in the warm embrace of her hooman dad's arms, hopefully with lots of toy mice to plaly with.

Dad goes on a bike ride, finds $20 and a cat, takes both and uses the 20 to buy food for his newly-adopted fluffball
The cat distribution system works in mysterious ways. We have said that before, and we will say it again, because somehow, despite everything that we have seen so far, the system still manages to surprise us. And seriously, we have seen the system do some amazing work. The system has once delivered a kitten to someone via the Starbucks drive-through, as a man pulled up to it with a backseat full of kittens. We have seen a kitten literally fall into a man's house through the window, without any explanation. We have seen a kitten jump out of nowhere and adopt two golden retriever doggos who were on a walk with their owner.

Former feral feline gets adopted by cat-adoring couple who spends weeks nursing him back to health, only to be confronted by neighbor's disappointment
We love our neighborhood cats. In those meowments when we're out of the house, away from our own purrfectly precious kitties, they wholesomely ask for our love, and we give it willingly. We even give them extra food whenever they decide to pay us a visit. We would adopt them if we didn't have a full house of felines already (no, seriously, we're at capacity). We have taken some of them in for a quick TNR (trap-neuter-release) to help make sure we don't end up with more strays, but we don't have any right of ownership over them. Heck, we don't even have the rights of ownership over our own house cats. All of you fellow pawrents out there will surely agree with that - we all know that they own us.

CDS delivers a purrfect match as hooman falls in love with a stray cat while leaving for work and adopts her into their home
Sometimes the Cat Distribution System knows exactly when to deliver, and three weeks ago, it brought pure perfection named Misty. On a regular morning, this sweet gray fluff decided her new hooman was the one. One leg rub, a few confident head bonks, and that was it. She had officially adopted her person. Despite her matted fur and tired eyes, Misty's heart was full of love from the very first moment.

14-year-old cat who always sits on where it hurts suddenly starts sitting on her owner's fiancé's chest, warning them that something was wrong with his heart and consequently saving his life
When a cat's behavior changes, that is usually something incredibly important to notice. Cats have routines, and their routines are very, very important to them. Their routines may be silly, like waking you up at five in the morning for breakfast, but they matter. And sure, it may be something small and silly, like if your cat suddenly starts limping, and it turns out that she stretched too hard and got a cramp, or if your cat suddenly starts going number 1 in the sink, and the vet's conclusion is that she just wants to feel included when you go in that room to do your business.
